Dining Out & Non-smokers
I just thought of something...Is it weird that I totally don't mind going to a restaurant by myself?? I kind of like it, actually. I usually sit there and look at the other customers and listen to them talk...trying to figure out their story. Except last night I had to sit up in the balcony of Brit's Pub b/c that's the smoking section, and of course, the dirty/evil smokers have to sit up there. I'm tired of the judgement about smokers...YES, we know it's a bad habit. And, no, I'm outside, so I *won't* kindly put my cigarette out. Some geek man in a wind suit told me to get rid of my cigarette out once and we were outside!! I should have said, "Will you kindly let me burn you? Because you're a geek and really, that track suit has to go..."

Yes - his gross track suit did make the "woosh woosh" noise and it is far more annoying than smoking outside!
Stacy, I'm glad you find humor in my misfortune! Haha - kidding.

Seriously- what was with the psycho "I'm going to impose my health concious lifestyle unto others" freak when you were smoking *outside*? Some people are too annoying. You're outside. Stay upwind & you'll avoid the smoke. I hate stupid people.
But I have to say that second hand smoke has started making me nausous in the last few months- litterally ran to the restroom once for fear I was about to vomit- which of course subsided as soon as I was away from the smoke. I think this might be because I have given up my social smoking that I used to do when out drinking with friends (since my roommate's mom was diagnosed with lung cancer in Feb, I can't bring myself to smoke with a concious mind). So I can understand the need to sequester you evil smokers so the rest of us can avoid your dirty smoke. Unless I'm knee walking drunk- then I'll be asking for a drag or six. Then I'm OK with letting you evil smokers in with the rest of us. But only when it serves *my* needs. Because, lets face it. Its all about me.

Yikes. I'm a'scared of what might happen if you don't get your drag or six! Social Smoker -- that's what I hope to be someday. I know I'll never be able to go out drinking w/ friends and not smoke...that sucks b/c Minneapolis is going smoke free in March. (Save the cheers for someone else's blog, b/c in this room, you'll just get the hand...)

It does seem odd to have bars smoke free. How do I flirt with the cute guy next to me that I'm afraid to just talk to if I can't reach over & gently take his cig for a drag? This ban could ruin me.
