It's Madonna's birthday.
She turns 47 today, if you can believe that. Although she's mysteriously developed an English accent and changed her name to Esther, I still think she's pretty cool...an American icon.
Also of note, she married Sean Penn twenty years ago today. God, I'm getting old b/c I remember that. Yikes.
Anyway, Happy Birthday, Madonna!!

She's also the exact same height as Joan Crawford, FYI.
I'm so old that I remember when "Lucky Star" was cutting edge. OK, maybe it was never cutting edge, but to this Mesa, Arizona then-13-year-old, it sure as hell SEEMED cutting edge.
Sigh. I want to watch the "Live to Tell" video RIGHT NOW.
