Johnny Carson loves her, anyway...

The group of friends I went to Canada with have tickets to Bette Midler for this Sunday night and asked if I cared to join...I don't really know what she sings, except that Wind/Wings song, but figured what the hell - I usually just sit at home alone on Sundays anyway! I bet I'll see a lot of "the gays" there! I hope Bette is drunk...

  • Oh my god - that picture of Bette Midler is huge!
    Absolutely gigantic.
What in the hell does she sing anyway? I've heard her stage shows are supposed to be really entertaining but I wouldn't have any idea what to expect. The only other songs I can remember are "The Rose," which is sweet but unbearably cheesy and that "God is Watching Us" song which I heard millions of times during my adolescent years 'cause I went to Catholic school. Still, it should be fun. Maybe you'll find some random Bette fan to make out with!
I like BM (ha her initials are BM!) movies a lot - Big Business, Ruthless People, the one with Shelly Long, and so on...

  • Yes - that picture is quite large...but I like it that way. Hey - did I just type that out loud?!

I really like that Big Business movie as well. She a funny a lady.

Hmmm...making out w/ some random at a Bette Midler show? Now that will be something to write home about - or at least Blog. Chalk one up for me...

  • A have a couple friends that saw her show in Chicago. They LOVED it. She is a real entertainer - she sings, she dances and tells some really great jokes - most of them off-color and dirty. She did get her start, after all, working in gay bathhouses in NYC. Hence her name - Bathhouse Betty.

  • I like her despite the fact God is watching us,the rose, and wind beneath my wings all make me want to gag.I used to have a crush on this guy who looked exactly like her....did I just type THAT out loud...oh yeah too late to take it back.Have fun,I think it will be very entertaining you will have to update us.

  • Yeah, that From a Distance song is unforgivable. And so is The First Wives Club. Those bathhouse days were a long time ago. I don't think I could handle an evening with Bette.
